Ohio Democratic Secretary of State Brunner Perpetuating Leftwing Blog's Foreclosure Fabrication
Ohio Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, is running up quite a tally of potentially illegal actions concerning voting in Ohio. She knows that she can personally change the election by thwarting legal voting in a battleground state. For the party who claims Jeb Bush stole Florida through voter fraud to employ the very tactics that supposedly existed in Florida in 2000 is beyond deplorably hypocritical.
Brunner Perpetuates Leftwing Foreclosure Conspiracy
Democrat Secretary of State makes unfounded partisan accusations
(Columbus) - Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner continued to advance the Obama campaign's agenda on Wednesday by perpetuating a leftwing blog conspiracy about voter registration challenges.
Brunner issued an advisory ordering election administrators to reject challenges based on home foreclosures and went on to suggest that unnamed "presidential campaigns and political parties" are considering the tactic.
Brunner stated in a release, "Presidential campaigns and political parties should focus on solving the foreclosure crisis, rather than on using it for political advantage to deprive a targeted group of their fundamental American right to vote."
"This is an outrageous and unfounded accusation by the state's chief elections officer," said Ohio Republican Party Chairman Bob Bennett. "If she knows of a campaign or a political party that has publicly stated a willingness to pursue these deplorable tactics, she should say so. She's making these indirect accusations based on nothing more than conspiracies being perpetuated by leftwing bloggers and the Obama campaign."
The Obama campaign filed a federal lawsuit based on an erroneous blog report in Michigan that has already admitted to misquoting sources in its posting. The lawsuit accuses Republicans of engaging in "massive voter supression" by challenging voters who face home foreclosure.
"No such plan exists," said Bennett. "It's a complete fabrication by desperate Democrats trying to use anger as a motivational tactic. Let me be very clear on this. We absolutely condemn any effort to challenge the eligibility of voters based on home foreclosures. Jennifer Brunner needs to focus on real problems in this election, such as her blatant disenfranchisement of thousands of qualified Republican voters seeking an absentee ballot."

For the Record
Democrats are basing their unfounded accusations on an erroneous leftwing blog:
Associated Press: The Michigan Messenger's editorial director says the Web site misstated an Ohio GOP official's comments in an article that said Republicans were planning to challenge homeowners on foreclosure lists to keep them from voting. ...
On Saturday, Republican National Committee general counsel Sean Cairncross scolded the Democrats for their actions.
"The Obama campaign and Democratic Party have gone to federal court and convinced 14 U.S. senators -- including Barack Obama and Joe Biden -- to write a letter to the U.S. attorney general based solely upon what we now know to be a discredited and inaccurate liberal blog post," Cairncross said in a statement.
"Well, I tell you what, it helps in Ohio that we've got Democrats in charge of the machines."
